What kind of history do we have?

As you can imagine, with more than a century of success behind us there have been plenty of high points. Here are just a few of them:

1883 – G.A. Krause establishes the business that will become Wolverine.

1914 – The Wolverine brand name is used for the horsehide leather ‘1000 Mile Shoes’.

1919 – We begin a US wide advertising campaign and set up one of the first national sales forces.

1958 – A new range of shoes made from pigskin suede is launched. We call them Hush Puppies.

1963 – Sales of Hush Puppies go through the roof. It’s estimated that an incredible one in ten American adults now owns a pair.

1992 – We invent DuraShocks – the first true comfort system for workboots. It’s a revolution.

1994 – We introduce the world to Cat Footwear.

1997 – We purchase the Merrell brand.

1998 – We sign a licensing deal with Harley-Davidson to produce our own range of bold, edgy, sexy footwear.

2003 – We purchase Sebago, a major name in marine footwear.

2005 – Our sales top $1billion for the first time.

2006 – We acquire the global license to design and market Patagonia footwear.

2007 – We launch our Merrell and Wolverine apparel lines.

2007 – We win our first ever Polartec APEX Design Award for our revolutionary seamless Pioneer jacket.

2008 – We relocate our European operations to prestigious new offices in London.
